State Concert Band Festival

2021 Virtual State Concert Band Festival Date: March 31, 2021.

Registration will open on December 10, 2020 at 8:00am (Central Time) at: https://nsbma.formstack.com/forms/2021scbf. The 2021 discounted entry fee is $100. Due to COVID-19, NSBA will not be offering a secondary site or festival date for 2021 as originally planned.

The annual NSBA State Concert Band Festival provides a non-competitive environment that serves all levels of ensembles in the state of Nebraska—middle school, high school, and college/university groups. NSBA recognizes the unique situations currently facing bands across the state due to COVID-19; the 2021 State Concert Band Festival will be an experience that encourages and celebrates the music-making happening in each of our state’s programs – however it looks. Typically, the festival includes a performance component followed by a clinic, however ensembles are not limited to that format for the 2021 SCBF.

For 2021, participating schools are not required to submit a performance for the event (a non-exhaustive list of possible performance components may be found in the Festival Letter). In these instances, the clinic will be elongated to facilitate musical discussions on topics that may include including arranging/composition, ensemble musicianship, leadership, equity in music, concert programming discussions, general Q&A, and other topics of interest.

Please direct all questions to NSBA Concert Band Chair Dr. Joshua Kearney.
