2026 Young Band Director Bootcamp

We are excited to announce the NSBA Young Director Bootcamp, which will take place on Saturday July 11th at Columbus High School in Columbus, NE.

This event is a great opportunity for college students and young band directors finishing their 1st to 5th year to enhance their teaching techniques and network. There is no cost to attend, and lunch will be provided.

The bootcamp will feature engaging sessions on a variety of topics essential for success, including:

* Beyond the Back Row-How to Wrangle Percussion During Your First Year-Lauren Calkin

* Building and Retaining Band Culture-Dan Sodomka

* Creating Classroom Community through Clear Communication and Collaboration-Cassie Vallis

* Great Teaching & Great Concerts Through Great Literature-Jay Gilbert 

* A Question and Answer “Speed Dating” session with NSBA Board members
