Larry Rathbun graduated from Chadron State College, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education.  He has taught in Nebraska and Kansas for a combined 29 years.  Mr. Rathbun is in his fourth year serving as director of bands at Millard North High School, where he directs the marching bands, concert band, wind ensemble and the Jazz 1 ensemble.  He also teaches AP Music Theory, International Baccalaureate SL Music, and Music Consumer.

Larry is an active member of the Nebraska Education Association, the Millard Public Schools Education Association, the Nebraska Music Educators Association, and the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association.  He served as Awards Chair on the NSBA Executive Board from 2003 – 2006, and is currently serving as President-Elect..  In 2005, Larry was inducted into the Chadron State College Hall of Fame.  Larry is a member of Phi Beta Mu, and serves as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the state of Nebraska.

Larry enjoys spending time with his wife Laurie.  Golf and skiing are two of his favorite pastimes.

Jeff Mount is the director of bands at Blair High School in
Blair, Nebraska. His duties include directing the 230 member marching band,
three concert bands, three pep bands and two jazz bands. Mount also serves
as department chair of Fine Arts and Foreign Language. Prior to teaching at
Blair, Mount served eight years as 5-12 band director in Manning, Iowa, one
year as 5-12 band director in Albert City, Iowa, and three years as 5-12
band director in Delcambre, Louisiana. Mount earned a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Music Education from Louisiana Tech University and also has a
Masters of Science degree in School Administration from Drake University.

Dr. Neal Schnoor is Associate Director of Bands and Coordinator of
K-12/Secondary Education at the University of Nebraska Kearney. Bands under his direction performed for President William Clinton (1999), at the
Nebraska Music Educators Conference/Inservice (2000 & 2005), and became the first U.S. band to perform in the Rome New Years Parade (2006).

Dr. Schnoor has published articles in several state and national
journals and presented papers at state, national, and international
conferences. He has served as NMEA Research Chair since 2002 and is
currently President of NSBA. Honors include: membership in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, Phi Beta Mu International Band Fraternity, honorary membership in Tau Beta Sigma inclusion in Who’s Who in America (2003-2007), Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers (2000, 2004 and 2005). In 2007 Dr. Schnoor was voted Outstanding Faculty Member by the UNK Student Body.

Joann Couton is the director of bands at Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo Nebraska.  She has taught for 28 years, the last 23 of which have been at Bishop Neumann.  In addition to Junior High and High School Bands, pep band, marching band, and jazz band, she directs 5th and 6th grade bands at St. John Nepomucene in Weston, and St. Wenceslaus in Wahoo.  Joann has her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Doane College in Crete, and has post graduate hours at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and the Universisty of Nebraska, Kearney.  Her memberships include Nebraska Music Educators, National Band Association, Women Band Directors International, and National Catholic Band Association, as well as Nebraska State Bandmasters Association where she is serving her second term as Treasurer.  Previously she held the office of Public Relations Chair.
